What is the Kaiman-10 Hovercraft?
The Kaiman-10 is a commercial hovercraft designed for year-round passenger and cargo transport. It features a 4.3m cabin, can carry up to 10 passengers, and operates on water, ice, and snow. Its twin-engine design ensures safety and efficiency, with a range of 400-600 km.

The hull is 7 meters long, with a cabin over 4 m long. This lets you travel in minibus-like comfort — you can even set off on a multi-day trip. The Kaiman has everything you need:
- A 2×1,5m bed
- Fuel tanks for a range of 400–600 km
- A spacious lounge with a large dining table
- You can take up to 6 passengers on a trip, along with everything needed for a long rest — including a toilet and a fridge. The cabin has two heaters, and effective thermal insulation lets you stay inside without outdoor clothing even in freezing weather. The heaters are installed at the front and rear of the cabin, which allows for even heating so every passenger stays warm. Optional hatches for hunting and floor hatches for winter fishing are available. Winter fishing hatches can be installed in the cabin.

Our hovercraft can carry a solid fuel reserve of 300 liters. Expedition modifications with 500 l tanks are available. This is enough to cover from 400 to 1000 km, depending on the wind and wave conditions and the moving surface.

- Simple and reliable designThere are no high-risk mechanical components such as belt drives, clutches, or exposed shafts. The propulsion system consists of two engines, two propellers, and a gearbox. All you need to do is monitor the oil level and change it on schedule. A dedicated fuel pump for each tank improves safety on long journeys. In an emergency, the protective skirt panels can be made yourself from a piece of special plastic and installed in the field.
- Higher flexible guard resource and braking safetyThe vessel is equipped with a small Zongshen lift engine that operates independently of the main engine speed. This means you maintain hover during braking — ensuring safety and extending the service life of the skirt. Unlike single-engine vessels, the Kaiman allows you to move at low speed while fully on cushion. Steering is by wheel and throttle pedal. Compared to an airboat, the Kaiman offers a smooth and safe ride.
- Spacious universal cabinThe cabin is over 4 m long, which allows for a triple bed while still leaving room for a dining table for four. The ceiling height of 1.5 m lets you move around freely while underway. The saloon can be fitted with sofas or individual armchairs. The spacious cabin accommodates up to 10 passengers and up to one cubic meter of cargo. In the bow there is a 300-liter luggage compartment. The cabin has two heaters and floor insulation.
- Low cost of operation and maintenanceYou may have heard alarming stories about the high cost of hovercraft skirt parts. Compare our prices with the running costs of a regular boat or other hovercraft, and you will see that the Kaiman rightly deserves its reputation as the most economical vessel. A complete set of skirt panels costs €560. A set of front and rear skirts costs €440. Fuel consumption: 0.5–1 L per km.

- Cost of OwnershipHow much does it cost to own a boat?
The cost of owning a vessel can be divided into several groups:
Fuel and oil costs: Fuel consumption is 0.5–1 liter of 92–95 octane per kilometer, or 20–40 liters per hour, depending on the mode of movement. On ice, consumption is lower; on water is higher. 10 liters of oil are changed every 100 hours or once a year.
The cost of replacing the skirt (bottom skirt panels, front and rear segment): Skirt wear occurs only on ice. Snow, water, and sand do not significantly affect the protective plates. On average, these parts are replaced every 3 years. A full set of wear parts for the flexible skirt costs about €1,500. This includes the skirt panels, front and rear skirt sections.
The Kaiman-10 can rightly be called the most economical vessel among its analogues! - LimitationsWhat are the limitations of hovercrafts?
The main limitation is that the surface must be relatively flat. A hovercraft can pass over free-standing obstacles, but if it encounters a pile of hummocks over 0.2 m high or a swamp with frequent bumps, the ride becomes rough and there is a risk of getting stuck. Obstacles such as logs or sand steps need to be passed at speed without stopping. Every time the skirt (the perimeter holding the pressure under the craft) lifts off the ground, the pressure under the vessel drops, and the hovercraft momentarily turns into an ordinary airboat and loses speed. The main skill a pilot must acquire is choosing sufficient speed to pass a given obstacle. - Control & TrainingIs it difficult to manage a ship and how long does it take to learn?
Controlling a hovercraft is like driving a rear-wheel-drive car on ice. The Kaiman can travel at over 100 km/h on snow, but keep in mind that the braking distance may be longer than you expect. Therefore, caution and experience are essential. The air cushion puts less pressure on snow and ice, and riding on it is faster than on a snowmobile or off-road vehicle. It is moderately difficult, but gives a lot of positive emotions once you learn to do it correctly. We provide free training when the ship is handed over; the training lasts 2–3 hours, which is enough in most cases.

The main engine is designed for movement, auxiliary to create an air cushion under the ship. The engines have independent rev control. A gear reducer is used as the transmission of the main engine. Aluminum fuel tanks with a maximum capacity of 200 or 300 liters are installed on the vessel. For better balancing, the tanks are installed in the central part of the vessel on the starboard and port sides. Switching between tanks is carried out by a button on the dashboard. Each tank is equipped with its own Bosch submersible petrol pump, filling neck, level sensor and ventilation. The fuel tank compartment also has ventilation.

The hovercraft has inflatable side pontoons and a built-in pump for inflating them.
The flexible fence is made of technical fabrics with frost resistance up to - 30oC, a density of 1150 g/ m and a tensile strength of 7000 N / 5 cm.
The area in contact with the movement surface is protected from abrasion by a 2-3 mm thick polyethylene sheet or a 2 mm thick polyurethane sole. To reduce the cost of operation, it is possible to replace the side and rear elements, which are subject to maximum wear.
